I knew we were going to have a great engagement session when I met Markus and Camryn. They both had such great charisma and energy. We worked in some areas of Downtown Madison and had some great laughs shooting around the historic buildings. I cant wait to shoot their wedding, not to mention that it is on our Birthday!

Congratulations to Greg and Lori for their marriage engagement. I took them to one of my favorite locations for this engagement session. I wanted to create both a rustic and vintage feel with these images, all the while capturing the playful spirit of these two.
I made time to get some traditional shots in the mix , but here is the showcase of some of my favorites from the session.

Everyone feels different in front of the camera. It is good to discover your comfort level being photographed before the wedding day. All of my wedding services include an Engagement and Bridal session just for this purpose. Not only do I get to learn about photographing you but you get a collection of images to choose from.

The prints from the engagement session make great announcement inserts. You can also use them in a special display at your reception. One very popular item I offer is a Guest Book custom created with your engagement pictures.

Thanks again Lori and Greg, I look forward to photographing your wedding this Fall.

Ruth and Mac

Its always a pleasure to shoot at the Ledges and this trip was not disappointing. Mac And Ruth were an awesome couple. After an elegant ceremony at 1st United Methodist in Historic Downtown Huntsville, we went directly over to the reception.

During the celebration we made time to go do some photos of the sunset and the lit building.

The band kept the party hopping until late in the night!
Best Wishes to Mac and Ruth! Please feel free to leave your comments.

Downtown Bridal Gown Session

Recently, we spent the afternoon photographing Christie's Bridal Gown Session. We had a great time with plenty of laughs, and not to mention some fabulous shots for her wedding collection.

Bridal Sessions provide unrestrained opportunity to create a special image you can cherish for years to come. Plan on shooting your Bridal Session four to six weeks out from your wedding if you want to get a portrait display for your reception. Don’t forget to book your trial hair and makeup appointments to coincide with your portrait session.

Thanks to Christie's sisters for helping with the dress and keeping us well hydrated through the August heat.

This last Saturday we headed up to Gorham’s Bluff for Jennifer and David’s wedding. I am going to have to let the wedding photos do the talking, because there is too much to say about how beautiful this day was.
Jennifer’s bridal dress; from Something Blue in Hartselle, was stunning. The Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place for the ceremony which took place at the overlooking bluff.

Thanks to the couple for the chance to work with a wonderful family in such a picturesque location!

Congratulations and Best Wishes to Christy and Joe Lindsey.
The Newlyweds had their ceremony at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens with reception to follow at the Arbor Room.

Christy’s fabulously, sparkly dress was supplied by Huntsville’s own local bridal shop; Modern Bride.

The couple dined and entertained guest with food and cake catered by Magnolia Springs Manor of Birmingham Al. The ceremony was serenaded by the angelic music of Alabama Harpist, Steven Todd Miller.

It was a beautiful day and we took tons of photos; despite the heat we managed to get some great images. Here are a few samples of what we photographed during their wedding day.

Wedding Cost Estimator

I was searching the web for wedding information and came across this cool cost estimator. "They" say that wedding photography on average, should play a 10% roll in your total wedding budget . Most of my clients tell me that they are spending a higher percentage on photos because when it is all over, the pictures are what they have to tell the story.
Have fun with this gadget and let me know what you think.

After making a reschedule to shoot Christy’s bridal session due to rain, we had an amazing day for photography at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. Christy’s wedding was held in the Arbor room the following weekend, so this shoot gave us lots of extra time to photograph all over the gardens. Bridal Sessions offer a no pressure day to shoot and create some beautiful art with the bridal dress that would normally only be worn the day of the wedding. Christy’s dress was supplied by the fabulous team of Huntsville’s own local bridal shop, Modern Bride.

Helen and Nate had an awesome wedding day; congratulations to a wonderful couple. We met in the spacious sanctuary of the Korean Presbyterian Church of Huntsville for the ceremony . We then took a Limo provided by Classy Limousine Service to Big Spring Park for some fun Photography in the sun. It was hot but we managed to get some great shots before we all melted. Their reception followed at Phuket restaurant. There was music provided by James “Doc” Wright and cake for everyone to celebrate the couple. Best wishes to a really great family !

The rain Sunday tried to dampen our spirits, but the sun came out just in time for Morgaine and Alan to have a wonderful outdoor wedding. Her bridal dress and bridesmaid dresses; supplied by David’s Bridal were stunning. All the Decorations and flowers were arranged by Mrs. Ellis; she has a talent for coordinating. The Ceremony was held on the patio at Monte Sano lodge overlooking the mountains of the State Park, with the reception to follow indoors. Steve Metz with Metropolitan Disc Jockey Service was on hand to MC and drop some def jams for the dance floor. A non-stop dance party shortly ensued. Clementine’s Catering kept the food coming and the cake was stunning to see and delicious to eat. When the party started to wrap up Affordable Vintage supplied a special car for the bride and groom. Thanks to the Ellis and Kim families for making this event fun and easy to photograph.

Fun in the Field

These fields of green grasses have been growing in Madison county over the last few weeks, I really want to photograph a bride in the middle of one. I’m sure it would have to be a trash your dress sitting, as it was really muddy out there. This would also make a nice setting for a family or senior sitting. Jack loved playing in the “forest” we got a lot of fun shots of him playing hide and seek with the camera.

Christy and Joe

WOW! I finally got to photograph a couple under the Dogwood at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens! That has got to be one of the most beautiful trees in Alabama. Thanks and Congratulations to Christy and Joe on your engagement! The session turned out terrific!

Lexie & Steve

Lexie and Steve had a wonderful ring ceremony in the Big Spring Park. The Museum of Art was the perfect location for their literature themed reception. We got some great shots around the park, I love shooting there in the spring. Lexie and Steve have been great to work with, very kind and generous. Who doesn’t like the fudgey nut? Thanks for everything guys!

Emily and Matt

Emily and Matt were married recently at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with the reception following at The Ledges. This was truly a beautiful couple to work with and photography. The families were so cooperative and patient. I have been photographing a lot of weddings up at good shepherd; I feel like one of the parishioners now. They are always so welcoming! The reception was another flawless event at the ledges. Photos at sunset on the 18th, who could ask for anything else?
